With the purchase by Goodwin PLC of the internationally recognised Noreva GmbH in 2007, the Nozzle Check valve, along with some 70 years of proven design, technology and experience, became part of the Goodwin International portfolio of check valve solutions. The axially operated non-slam valve provides a cost effective solution to critical high-deceleration applications, such as pump and compressor protection, where high reliability and fast-acting performance is an absolute necessity. With a spring assisted closure and a short amount of travel, the valve can closer in a fraction of the time it takes a swing check valve to stop the flow, and in doing so limits any resultant pressure surges to a safe level. Available in a wide range of materials and body styles, the nozzle check valve can be used in the most demanding and severe duties both on and offshore.
The Goodwin Nozzle Check valve is available in two designs. In sizes 1” to 10”, the valve has a single solid disc as a closure member. In sizes 12” and above the valve employs a lighter ring disc design, guided by springs and friction free radial guides, to provide an enhanced dynamic response. With both design types, low pressure losses and high flow efficiency ensure reduced total lifecycle costs.
